TASH – Happy?

“Heavy, yet melodic”, isn’t a phrase you hear a lot when talking about alt-rock music. But TASH are no ordinary alt-rock band. They’re more at the psycho barn burning end of the spectrum. And, all the better for it.
TASH are fronted by singer/bassist Tara Noble. Tara slaps the bass better than anyone I’ve heard since Melissa Auf der Maur put the ‘Smashing’ into the ‘Smashing Pumpkins’. That’s not the only similarity between Tara and the former ‘Hole’ and ‘Smashing Pumpkins’ bassist. They share a similar talent for wringing every emotional note out of their songs.

A perfect example of the bands art can be found on their latest single ‘Happy?’. The song jumps right out of the gate with some pounding drum beats, and then it’s tic, tic boom! with the guitars. It’s as catchy as hell, and will no doubt have the pit bouncing live. There are hints of Foo Fighters and Alter Bridge in here, whilst the nice shifts of pace give you time to catch your breath before the hard sprint through the finish line.

TASH sing: “I’d never make you happy”, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
