Mr. Dinkles – Eat Chips and Talk Shit

Mr. Dinkles get 2026 off to a great start with their latest single Eat Chips and Talk Shit.  The track has wonderfully heavy, slow strumming, sludgy guitars that create a sexy-as-fuck sound.  Mac Rettig delivers her lines in a deadpan, almost nonchalant, way.  It’s a style that is quickly becoming her trademark – check out previous hit Bits for comparison. 

Eat Chips and Talk Shit also benefits from some excellent hi-hat and stick work from drummer Rocco Ramos.  The song remains playful throughout, but there’s an undercurrent of menace that hints at the band’s disillusionment with ‘The American Dream’. 

Mac Rettig is a master at crafting songs with simple melodies, and lyrics that give the middle finger to those peddling the message of a better life in a country built on inequality.  In doing so, Mr. Dinkles have, perhaps, created their own musical genre: Post-American Dreamcore. 

Mr. Dinkles do many things, but one thing they don’t do is talk shit.
