The Captain are back with their third single of 2025. Fight Your Momma is another belter of a rock song from these Dutch masters.
Fight Your Momma begins with singer Kiki Baljé shouting “Good morning” like a toddler jumping on their parents bed at 6am on a Sunday. You know what follows will be chaos, and The Captain do not disappoint.
The music is pure backbeat hardcore, and the big beats give the sound industrial heft. There’s punk like aggression alongside Kiki’s menacing tone as she talks us through her ‘hobby’ of night crawling. It’s adrenalized fun with a double shot of rampant adventure on the side (check out the video below for the full effect).
The Captain have always had the ability to deploy feminist scorn with laser like precision. Previous hits such as Amazing Prick and Fucking Hypocrite are testament to that, but Fight Your Momma adds a layer of dramatic irony which makes this track even more enjoyable.
