PROJECTOR – It Surely Has Been Hell

PROJECTOR crank up the crank wave on latest release ‘It Surely Has Been Hell’. Once again singer Edward Ensbury has something to get off his chest, and he’s going to let you know about it. ‘It Surely Has Been Hell’ is the band’s third single of the year, and is part of the build up to their second album ‘CONTEMPT’, scheduled for release on 3rd October.
‘It Surely Has Been Hell’ leads off with a nicely paced drum intro from Callum Marinho, before Ed’s guitar piles in with some wonderfully distorted soundwaves. It’s a sonic mix of irritation, anxiety and impatience – everything we’ve come to love about PROJECTOR. But, like the skilled chess player he is, Ed has endgame mastery. He’s lining us up for a killer chorus; full of melodic and atmospheric texture. If Ian Curtis were still alive then this is what Joy Division would sound like today – PROJECTOR really are that good.

Ed sings that he has a ticket to the end of the world. He’s been singing about that since at least ‘And Now the End’. Let’s hope it can wait until after PROJECTOR’s tour in October.
