Saving Escape – Good Traveler
We’re beginning 2025 with a look at a rock band from Cincinnati called Saving Escape. The band released their debut full-length album ‘Good Traveler’ in the summer of last year, but they’ve been playing together for more than a decade. Saving Escape’s sound is a blend of classic rock with a contemporary twist. Imagine fusing some 1970s Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac then adding some Amy Winehouse for the hell of it. It all starts with Kala Rose and her vocals. They’re gritty but with enough polish to take the edge off a diamond. The supporting cast of rhythm and blues musicians create an arc of sound that will have you tapping your toes and dancing around the kitchen.
Having recently sat down with the Managing Director of one of the UK’s largest independent concert promotors I know how hard it can be for up and coming bands to break through into the mainstream music scene. But if a great voice and a catchy groove can work for bands like Wolf Alice, then why not Saving Escape?
Let’s hope 2025 brings Saving Escape the airplay they deserve, and the critical acclaim to match.
