The Captain – Chaotic Mind
The Captain deliver a Dutch masterclass with their new EP ‘Chaotic Mind’. Fast paced, punky and rhythmic are all apt descriptors for ‘Chaotic Mind’. This is a musically tight album with a wonderfully distorted symmetry to it. The Captain are a confident and poised band, with just the right amount of madness peeking through. They are the musical equivalent of Arthur Fleck in The Joker movies (check out the track ‘Fucking Hypocrite’ and you’ll see what I mean).
Title track ‘Chaotic Mind’ rocks like a Siouxsie and the Banshees song – raw, passionate and equally era defining.
‘Amazing Prick’ could have been written by Adele, if she knew how to use a distortion peddle. Much like Adele, The Captain have the ability to write lyrics that are connected to pain and emotionally charged. We salute The Captain, and let’s hope they bring the chaos to the UK soon.
