The Meat Sweaters – Human Porkchop

The Meat Sweaters are back with another 2 minutes of mayhem in the guise of new single ‘Human Porkchop’.
Listening to The Meat Sweaters can feel like the musical equivalent of watching the movie ‘Seven’. Food is an essential part of the story. ‘Body Yoghurt’ and ‘Cheeseburger Dog’ are fine examples of The Meat Sweaters audio/culinary art. ‘Human Porkchop’ follows in that fine tradition. It has a wonderful beat to it, with an almost rockabilly feel. It’s the kind of beat The Clash would have been proud to produce.

Lyrically the song reminds us that we are cast into the gloom not by negativity but by hope. ‘Human Porkchop’ is a bit like the American humour magazine ‘MAD’ edited by a Guardian reader. It’s outrageously funny but intelligent.
“It’s time to feel upset” sing The Meat Sweaters, but I don’t think so. It’s time to take off your shoes and socks, put on your bow tie and dinner jacket, and gorge yourself on ‘Human Porkchop’. Delicious.
