Twin Skeletons – Did You Get What You Wanted?
There’s a volcano going off in Iceland and another one in the South West of England. Twin Skeletons have erupted with their debut EP ‘Did You Get What You Wanted?’.
Opening track ‘What You Wanted’ kicks off with some hard rock riffing in the style of Audioslave. Phoebe Millard’s vocals kick in with the kind of strained emotional intensity that suggests she’s got something to get off her chest and your eardrums are going to pay the price.
Next up is ‘Deadweight’. Lively and up-tempo, there is enough going on here to get the circle pit forming. A nice change of tempo kicks in before a hard sprint through the finish line.
‘Make Me’ has a dark, brooding, ominous feel to it. There’s a more expansive sound akin to the alternative metal band Lacuna Coil. This is a complex and brilliantly produced track.
The final song on Twin Skeleton’s EP is ‘(Don’t) Let It Be The End’. A more reflective but non the less powerful track.
