Welcome to The Motor Show

The Motor Show once described themselves as “Not good looking enough to make serious music” and that just about says it all.  So, if you’re in need of some fun and you enjoy toe-tapping music, then kick back and give these guys a listen.

The Blues Brothers found a way to play Country and Western music and make it heart-warming and sardonic.  Check out their version of Rawhide and you’ll see what I mean.  The Motor Show pull off the same trick song after song on their brilliant EP Beau Regards.  Songs such as ‘Better Build A Raft’ and ‘Fresh and Clean’ display the kind of twangy guitars and reverb vocals that would garner a round of applause from Chris Isaak (and no doubt have him rushing back in to the studio to re-record ‘Wicked Game’).

The Motor Show paint themselves as nonchalant with a touch of soap opera drama, but underneath the playful exterior there is some serious musicianship and skilful song writing.  What Banksy is to street art, The Motor Show are to music.  This becomes abundantly clear when you see the band live.  Part ‘High Chaparral’ and part raucous Las Vegas lounge act, they fizz with energy.  The Motor Show wrap themselves up in a carefully crafted persona of American heritage played out in an English setting.  No matter the truth; the illusion works brilliantly.

So, put on your Stetson, pull the ring on a beer and swing along in your rocking chair to The Motor Show.  The Good Ol’ Boys are in town – Yee-haw!
