Empty Guns – Prelude to Madness
Empty Guns have reloaded, and their new single ‘Prelude to Madness’ shows they really are the master blasters of rock.
It’s been more than 2 years since Empty Guns last single ‘Lick the Devil’s Horns’, but they’ve not been idle. Signing to Canadian SODEH Records they’ve diligently built up an international following on both video and audio streaming channels.
‘Prelude to Madness’ is heavier than a jumbo jet and just as noisy. There’s a slow, pounding, rhythmic (almost industrial) beat running throughout the track, and Stacy (Anastasia) Mousakian’s vocals are hauntingly beautiful. Her capacity to move from soft to loud is effortless and testament to her vocal range.
Dimitris Oikonomou squeezes in a lush guitar solo towards the end of the track. With bent notes and lots of sustain it’s hard not to play along with your air guitar.
Stacy sings “I keep on having nightmares”, well it’s only going to be sweet dreams when word gets out about this excellent track.
